This one day bookmaking workshop will introduce a range of simple but effective printmaking techniques that can be done without the use of a press. Experiment using mark making techniques on inked Perspex and Gelli Plates and applying organic and found materials onto gelatine and agar surfaces to achieve sensitive and unique monoprints.
These monoprints will then be used to make artists’ books, which will include a concertina book and a choice of folded paper books. The course will be tailored to each individual course member and participants are encouraged to bring their own artwork, photographs and sketchbooks as a source for their ideas.
Course members should supply their own sketching pencils and sketchbook but all other materials will be provided.
